Is being a vegetarian better than eating meat?

have this kid Collin in my class. He is a vegetarian and he “claims” that eating meat is bad for your health. And being a vegetarian is better than eating meat. And also I am doing a report on Meat VS. Vegetarians. Can you guys or gals help me with this question?
And if your a Christian–> Is it against the Bible to be a veggie!??
