How do I cancel my Fitness USA membership?

I joined the Fitness USA in the Stonestown Mall location in San Francisco, California and I would like to cancel my membership! Except they are not letting me cancel at the gym location and they are charging me by the month. They are making it very difficult for me to quit. Help?
