Workout for an overweight women.. hips and lower abs?

I am extremely overweight and I am trying to lose some with eating healthy and working out but what I was wondering is what is a good excerise for a someone in their mid 20′s to lows my hips and lower abs… i need to lose all over but I think I would get more motivation if I could lose some in those areas.. Thanks for any advice!
