Will lifting weights 2 days a week help me lose weight ?

Im a woman. I just started weight lifting for one hour two days a week. I also do a workout video 3 days a week. I want to lose 15 pounds. Will lifting weights 2 days a week help change my body or is it just going to be a minor difference.
